Our Heritage
We work at the source, in Sri Lanka, selecting sapphires by eye and dealing directly with the island's cutters and lapidaries. Every stone is bought on its own merits, and what we know about it is what we tell you.
We follow each stone from source to the grading table, and know the hands it passes through.
Questions
What collectors most often ask: origin, treatment, and how a private purchase works.
Yes. Every Premadasa sapphire is a natural Ceylon stone, and we specialise in unheated material. On the rare occasion a stone has been heated, we say so plainly.

Sustainability
Ceylon's sapphires are won by hand, without heavy machinery. We buy directly from the island's small-scale miners and cutters, and deal with them fairly.
The Premadasa Dispatch
A quiet note when a notable unheated stone is found, and occasional reading from the desk. No noise.
The Journal
Plain guidance on origin, treatment, and choosing a Ceylon sapphire.
